ARGENTINA – CYBERSECURITY: NEW PROGRAMS FROM THE NATIONAL MINISTRY OF SECURITY

Today, February 15th 2022, the Official Gazette published the Resolution No 75/2022 from the National Ministry of Security that approves the update of the “Federal Plan of Technological crimes and cybercrimes (2021-2024)” (the “Plan”) and the Resolution No 86/2022 that creates within the Unit of the Cabinet Consultant of the Ministry of Security the “Strengthening Program on cybersecurity and research of cybercrime (ForCIC)”.

Resolution No 75/2022 updates the objectives of the Plan and the proprietary areas to monitor such as federal coordination, the usage of technological tools, regulatory update and the creation of specific answer teems, among others.

As for Resolution No 86/2022, it defines the objectives of the Program and it sets certain actions within its competence such as:

(i) The creation of the “Research center on high technology cybercrime (CICAT)” for the training, prevention, analysis and research on cybercrimes

(ii) The reorganization and adequacy of the functioning of the Answer comity on security informatic incident (CSIRT);

(iii) The creation of the “Prioritisation Comity on the answer of cybernetic incidents (CoPRIC)”

(iv) The impulse of Collaboration and cooperation agreements with the public and/or private sector; both national and international; among others.
